Welcome!

Ludwig van Beethoven is the most frequently performed of all classical composers. He was also a radical artist who constantly reinvented himself, expanded the boundaries of music and posed questions to society. Even today he inspires people all over the world. BTHVN2020 will celebrate the 250th anniversary of his birth by mobilising people and opening up a wide range of perspectives – both on and about Beethoven more

200th Anniversary of the Hammerklavier Sonata

Siegburg City Museum | 53721 Siegburg

Beethoven’s most monumental piano sonata was published in 1819. It is still considered the exceptional work of its genre and remains unparalleled in piano literature with its exorbitant mental and pianistic demands. The Musikwerkstatt Siegburg will therefore be celebrating an anniversary before the great Beethoven Anniversary Year (250th birthday) and dedicating itself to this work in a several-day conference.
