Light art project

Prometheus, the bringer of light, fascinated Beethoven throughout his life. The character is also the inspiration behind the light art installations by the Berlin-based artist collective Schultze/Müller/Krause that kick off the Beethoven Anniversary Year. Drawing on Beethoven’s musical oeuvre, ten light art installations on the key themes of B-T-H-V-N enable visitors to experience urban spaces in a new way and awaken images that will be remembered.

OPENING CONCERT

Bonn opera | 53111 Bonn

250 years of Beethoven provide plenty of scope for different ways of approaching the composer, and the opening concert reflects this breadth. A Beethoven collage created especially for the opening concert investigates the relevance that Beethoven and his music can still have for us today. A pop music icon will present a very special statement on Beethoven, and the doors of the opera house will open with the Ode to Joy, ushering in a brilliant “Beethoven Discovery Year 2020.”
