250 piano pieces for Beethoven
Susanne Kessel has been commissioning compositions from 250 outstanding composers worldwide since 2013. By 2020, there will be 250 Beethoven-related piano pieces that will be published both as sheet music editions and CDs/downloads. Susanne Kessel will premiere all of the piano pieces by the end of 2020 in countless public concerts in Bonn and will subsequently also play them further performances in other cities and countries. International composers will be present as guests at all of the concerts, allowing for a lively exchange with the audience.
During the course of the 2020 Anniversary Year, Susanne Kessel will play piano recitals at various venues throughout Bonn. Composers and musicologists will be present at all of the concerts as guests to discuss their piano pieces and points of view on the work of Beethoven.
A total of 250 composers from over 40 countries guarantees international appeal. They will also present the new piano pieces in their own communities and countries. The sheet music editions and CDs/downloads of this historically unique project will be sold worldwide and be made available in libraries and archives. They will live on after the Anniversary Year and inspire future generations.
