B9Flashed 2.0: Chor-Flashmob digital

The Cultural Office of the City of Bonn and the Philharmonic Choir of the City of Bonn, the Bonner Kammerchor as well as the Kantorei der Kreuzkirche and the Kammerchor der Kreuzkirche "Vox Bona" developed the project "B9Flashed" for the Beethoven anniversary year. Once a month, short concerts of the many Bonn composers were to be held in public places choirs take place. As choirs cannot perform any more due to the corona pandemic, a video has now been produced.

Due to their spontaneous character, the performances should have a surprising effect on passers-by and guests of the city and invite them to sing along. In January and February the flashmobs could still take place as planned. Due to the Corona pandemic, the project had to be cancelled from March
can be interrupted. For this reason, the choirs have been invited to participate in a digital flash mob. The video, in which around 50 singers took part, can now be viewed on the municipal YouTube channel www.youtube.com/BundesstadtBonn
The piece "Sweet Power of Song", composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, was submitted. This Irish folk song was re-arranged for choirs for "B9flashed" by Dennis Mayer and is also part of the songbook developed for the project. If possible, the project should start live again in spring 2021.
