Beethoven and the Organ

Lecture with musical examples

Ludwig van Beethoven worked as an organist in Bonn from an early age: he received organ lessons in the palace church and regularly played the organ at the old Remigius Church. Unfortunately, he left behind very few organ compositions. On this evening, Michael Bottenhorn, organist of the St. Josef Church, will present various pieces of Beethoven's music for organ and explain the environment in which they were created.
