Beethoven in Bonn
The young piano duo, which is active in Austria, has recently won one international competition after another.
Playing the piano four hands is a particularly popular form of music-making in Beethoven's time, as can be seen in the works by L. v. Beethoven, F. Ries and J. Woelfl to be heard in this concert. A very special contribution to the literature is the version of his String Quartet in G minor Op. 25 for piano four hands, which J. Brahms himself wrote and whose performance is one of the great rarities in musical life.
The concert will be supervised by Stefan Plasa, Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, who will illuminate historical and sociological aspects of this programme.
