Festival of Choral Cultures – Rundfunkchor Berlin & Friends

For the second time, we invite outstanding amateur choirs from all over the world to a festival of choral cultures in Berlin. They will join us from Singapore, Brazil, South Africa, Russia, Belgium, the Philippines, Norway, Slovenia, Lebanon and the United States. They will travel to Berlin as if to a rally to enter a dialogue with each other and the audience.

Together with our singers they will perform "Ever Us", a new work commissioned from the British composer Roxanna Panufnik by the Rundfunkchor, at the Berliner Philharmonie. The lyrics were written by her compatriot Jessica Duchen, and include texts by Schiller, Goethe, Kant and Beethoven. "Ever Us" leads directly to the finale of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and the “Ode to Joy", in which a large part of the audience will accompany us. After all, this will also be our sing-along concert for the 2019/20 season. As with the 2017 premiere, we will also be working in close cooperation with INTERKULTUR, the world's leading organizer of international choir competitions, at this year's edition of the Festival of Choral Cultures.
