Langenberg Festival – Chamber Music between Rhine and Ruhr

The 6th edition of the Langenberg Festival from 3 to 6 September 2020 will offer an artistic reflection on current and important issues inspired by Beethoven's ideals.

The leitmotifs of "love liberty above all else", "Utopia" and the "Soldier’s Tale" form the framework for the experimental and traditional between the “Kreutzer Sonata” and juggling acts.

"Man only plays when he is in the fullest sense of the word a human being, and he is only human when he plays."

- Friedrich Schiller -

Let us play!

The Langenberg Festival, directed by Nina Reddig, brings together top musicians who have the courage to take risks and focus on the liveliness of the musical interpretation.

A space for authentic encounters opens up in the field of tension of listening to one and another.

... as if the music were levitating the furniture, as if some mighty force were blowing against the heavy silk curtains, as if every ossified, decayed particle buried deep in the human heart were quickening into life... (Sándor Márai "Embers")
