Antonín Dvořák, Poetic Moods, op. 85

Excerpts alternating with works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and others

Elena Bashkirova is connected to music through and through. As a multi-award-winning soloist, song accompanist, ensemble musician, founding artistic director of the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival and, more recently, president of the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Foundation in Leipzig, she is one of the most important driving forces in classical music. She has been artistically influenced in particular by her father, the legendary piano pedagogue Dmitry Bashkirov, her long-time duo partner Gidon Kremer and by her collaboration with conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Sergiu Celibidache and Michael Gielen. She has lived in Berlin with her husband Daniel Barenboim since 1992. Bashkirova's highly acclaimed most recent recording of Antonín Dvořák's complete "Poetische Stimmungsbilder" is the focus of her Bonn recital.
