Summer Workshop with Beethoven

Animal Instruments - A special zoo in the Beethoven-Haus

Each from 10:00 to 13:00 o'clock

Animals have always inspired the imagination of composers. We will therefore go out in search of animals in the music of Beethoven and his colleagues on five mornings.

We will prowl through several epochs, encountering Barbar the little elephant, dancing chicks, grumpy bears, buzzing bumblebees, blue birds, capricious trout, nipping fleas and other musical animals. The children will learn about the related instruments and hear the music of the corresponding composers: Haydn, Mussorgsky, Saint-Saëns, Schubert, Tchaikovsky...

We will also sing and make lots of animal music. When that all gets too loud, we will take out the colouring pens, scissors and glue, and get creative.
