"Waterloo" - silent film with live music accompaniment

Under the title "Beethoven and his time in silent film", the Förderverein Filmkultur Bonn e.V. presents a total of three silent films with live music accompaniment. The films take visitors on a journey back in time to the 18th century - right into the heart of Beethoven's rebellious era, which was characterised by revolutions and heroes, battles, courage and betrayal.

On 26 September at 11 am, visitors can experience WATERLOO (Karl Grune, 1929), a monumental film with impressive battle scenes. Günter A. Buchwald on the grand piano and Frank Bockius on drums condense the tense atmosphere in this epic about Napoleon's historic last battle at Waterloo and make it a sensual experience. The film mixes truth and fiction to create a gripping story that captivates from the very first minute.

The audience also gets a particularly good access to the film through an accompanying introduction, in which the film and its plot are classified in depth.
