13.03.2020 to 30.08.2020 | Exhibition

We capitalists. From the beginning to Turbo.

Capitalism is much more than just an economic system. It is a social order that has shaped our thinking, feeling and existence for centuries. From a cultural-historical perspective, the exhibition looks at the fundamental characteristics of capitalism: rationalization, individualization, accumulation, money and investment, as well as typical capitalist dynamics such as unchecked growth and creative crises.

This "DNA of capitalism" has long since become part of our own DNA in a figurative sense: How does capitalism shape our identity and history, for example in terms of individuality, sense of time and material property? And can - or do - we want to change something about it?

With objects from art, history and everyday culture, the exhibition enables us to approach a complex topic of high social relevance - and great relevance to life for all of us.

The educational programme is a cooperation with the Federal Agency for Civic Education.
