"1001 Beats between Bonn and Babylon" (1001 Takt zwischen Bonn und Babylon) is a transcultural music project with a total of 45 interactive offers, workshops and events. It promotes intercultural encounters and social coexistence in diversity by building musical bridges between the Orient and Occident. The focus is on putting together an ensemble of German and “Oriental” musicians, and practicing integration through music.

The musical oeuvre of Ludwig van Beethoven has time and again inspired painters, graphic artists and visual artists to create their own works. The past few decades, in particular, have witnessed a growing willingness to address Beethoven's music in the fine arts. Works by 20th and 21st-century artists will allow visitors to experience a quasi-synesthetic direct combination of music and fine art.

Commemorating the 250th birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven, the Haus der
Geschichte explores the topic of music and politics; through the eyes of contemporary
history it references the political artist that Beethoven indeed was.

Max Klinger (1857-1920) is one of the most unconventional artistic personalities of Symbolism.

A contemporary homage in two parts: The "Tangentiale" presents works and activities by artists from the region at nine venues around the city. The "Raum ist Partitur" exhibition (literally “Room is Score”) at the Künstlerforum in Bonn interlinks sound compositions with six current artistic positions and Mauricio Kagel's "Beethovenzimmer” (Beethoven Room).

A work in four churches: The art bridge shows the pastoral workers of the artist Daniel Gallmann in four churches of Öhningen (DE) and Stein am Rhein (CH).

In the Klangbrücke you can hear works by Ludwig van Beethoven every day at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The program changes on the 1st and 15th of each month.

The annual programme of the Klangbrücke as well as information on the artist's work are available in the churches.

A multimedia tour of stations with different themes and aspects on Ludwig van Beethoven brings the composer “back to life” in a public setting. The use of incisive elements at various locations in Bonn and the Rhine-Sieg District presents Beethoven to visitors, as well as the people of Bonn and the region, in a new way.
