In the Beethoven Year 2020, the artists of the Forest and Meadow Concerts around the Münster musician Sebastian Netta bow to Beethoven and transform his pastoral into the here and now. FLOW-RA is the name of the innovative musical experience.

A work in four churches: The art bridge shows the pastoral workers of the artist Daniel Gallmann in four churches of Öhningen (DE) and Stein am Rhein (CH).

In the Klangbrücke you can hear works by Ludwig van Beethoven every day at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The program changes on the 1st and 15th of each month.

The annual programme of the Klangbrücke as well as information on the artist's work are available in the churches.

Today Beethoven and Bach are among the most famous composers worldwide, but how did it come about? The Allgemeine musikalische Zeitung, founded in Leipzig in 1798, provided the decisive basis for this. The exhibition illuminates Leipzig's musical life in the early 19th century and the mutually dependent canonisation of Bach and Beethoven as classics of music. Visitors also learn how the music of Johann Sebastian Bach influenced Beethoven's work.

For the first time, a major exhibition endeavours to show the hitherto unnoticed parallels between the contemporaries Salvador Dalí and Hans Arp. Both artists developed a unique and individual visual language in the Surrealist circle of Paris.

Part of the exhibition is also dedicated to Dalí's fascination with his fellow radical artist Ludwig van Beethoven.

Ten concerts with “Beethoven and ...” as their theme. The focus will be on music for and with piano, including lieder and chamber music. One of Beethoven’s works will be juxtaposed with works by contemporaries with the same instrumentation to reveal compositional influences from Europe. International experts guide the audience through each concert.

The City of Freiburg is home to an almost unique variety of orchestras, by students for students. There is at least one suitable orchestra for every level of skill and desire. On 17 December 2020 Beethoven’s 250th birthday will be celebrated and the year will also represent the 900th anniversary of the City of Freiburg’s founding – cause for a double celebration. Why not form a ring of Ludwig van Beethoven’s nine symphonies with eight of the best student symphony orchestras?

Year-round theme / year-round slogan 2020 in the cultural city of Mülheim an der Ruhr. At its last general meeting, the Mülheim Rhine-Ruhr Art and Art Development Association (Kunstverein und Kunstförderverein Rhein-Ruhr – KKRR) decided to adopt the following theme for the year 2020: “BEETHOVEN YEAR 2020 IN THE CITY OF MÜLHEIM AN DER RUHR”.
