Reading at the piano: Karl-Heinz Ott reads "Rausch und Stille

Theaterwerkstatt | 73525 Schwäbisch Gmünd

Ludwig van Beethoven's nine symphonies are milestones in music history: Never before has pure instrumental music created such a complex, sonorous cosmos. Karl-Heinz Ott invites us on a literary-philosophically inspired journey, traces the effect of the symphonies through the centuries, tells of the intoxication into which they plunge us, and asks: Why does this music continue to unfold such a pull? A benefit for connoisseurs and beginners alike.

Beethoven's daughters IV

Kammermusiksaal des Beethoven-Hauses Bonn | 53111 Bonn

The outstanding young violinist Judith Stapf is undertaking an interesting experiment together with the pianist Marco Sanna: she is juxtaposing Beethoven's "canonical" violin sonatas with "daughter works" by largely unknown composers written around 100 years later. At the end of the four-part concert series, Beethoven's grandiose Violin Sonata in C Minor No. 7 takes Rosy Wertheim and Amanda Maier "piggybacking".

With the outbreak of the pandemic and subsequent lockdown, they "frozen" the work. At the beginning of June, Kaiser/Antonino then began to work on the choreography again, but now with a look back and perspective on global events.

Music as a Source of Inspiration – Beethoven in Contemporary Art

Mittelrhein-Museum | 56068 Koblenz

The musical oeuvre of Ludwig van Beethoven has time and again inspired painters, graphic artists and visual artists to create their own works. The past few decades, in particular, have witnessed a growing willingness to address Beethoven's music in the fine arts. Works by 20th and 21st-century artists will allow visitors to experience a quasi-synesthetic direct combination of music and fine art.
