Beethoven (Symphony No. 1 & No. 2) & C. P. E. Bach - "Beethoven's Symphonies and Their Role Models"

Rokokotheater, Schloss Schwetzingen | 68723 Schwetzingen

The Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin’s Beethoven cycle is characterized by a joy of discovery. Programmatic comparisons with wrongly forgotten symphonies from the First Viennese School rediscover Beethoven's symphonies and show his European view of music and intellectual history. The works re-enter the dialogue in a historically informed sound, providing an equally surprising and fascinating view of Beethoven and the multicoloured musical panorama of the time.
